How will your script
be judged ?

Upon entry, your script is entered into our secure database and assigned to a development professional. This professional then reads every word of your script, providing a private numerical score and comprehensive coverage, which is made visible to our professional jurists. Our jurists then retrieve the coverage and review, entering their own numerical score based on an objective and unbiased review of the synopsis and coverage. If the jury unanimously decides to give your script a “consider”, your script then receives another 2 reads. Winners of the competition are hand picked by the jury and are not selected based on a numerical score. Numerical scores only help screenwriters advance to the elimination rounds of the competition.

COPYRIGHT AND OWNERSHIP

The Portland Screenplay Awards does not claim any ownership of any original material submitted to the competition. All ownership remains with the original rights holders unless other terms and agreements are made.
